In black and white Karine Gougerot shows us her vision on Madagascar. Through an imaginary journey she gently introduces us to this distant country. This exhibition shows the pre-eminent place nature occupies on this island steeped in paradox, where the beauty of the natural world strongly contrasts with the poverty of the islands population. Through Gougerots photographs, the landscape, the rituals and the scents of Madagascar become almost tangible
Gougerot published "Tambitamby", a tender book of photography in which she tells the story of the Grand Island. Since ten years Gougerot has chosen Madagascar as her second home where she tries to capture the many faces of the Malagasi people in her photographs.
