RECENT WORK

Rity Jansen Heijtmajer, painter.

03.06.06 - 30.06.06

“Impressions of light, light beams and water are schematized in colour.
Light- colour in movement-
Light is captured between adjacent tonalities and contrasts with the adjacent space.
Movement is created by transparence between a light under layer and a dark top layer.
Transparence.
New variations develop, more and more possibilities that lead to harmony and beauty.”

Ritty Jansen Heijtmajer

Rity Jansen Heijtmajer studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam), Escuela de Artes Aplicadas (Madrid) and Ateliers '63 (Haarlem).
The work of Jansen Heijtmajer is based on abstract themes, its point of departure often is a mathematical concept.
In her work geometrical shapes are cut, closed in and covered.
Through this form of controlled interposition of forms a unity of differences develops, the result is a state of simultaneous harmony and tension. The work of Jansen Heijtmajer has been widely exhibited both in The Netherlands and internationally.
