INTIHUATANA

This exhibition is the result of collaboration between Julio Silva and Ruben Herrera.  The watercolours and acrylics that make up this exhibition were inspired by a series of poems composed by Ruben Herrera. The paintings and poems were published by Kuntur  Gallery  in a limited edition.

Julio Silva has worked as a painter and sculptor in Paris and Carrara since 1955. He has created several books among others Les discours du Pince-Gueule and Silvalandia with Julio Cortázar. Prominent sculptural works by him are Pyegemalion at the Forum Les Halles and Dame Lune on the central axis of La Défense in Paris. In 2001 the fountain Panta Rhei is revealed in Massa (Toscane). Silva has had solo exhibitions in museums as Sainte-Croix in Poitiers, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and several European, Latin American and North American Galleries.

Ruben Herrera is a painter in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His work has been exhibited in Europe, Latin- America, China and Canada. His paintings have illustrated books by García Márquez, Benedetti, Cortazár, Sábato and Yurkievich. Intihuatana is his first book of poems.
