PATAGONIA Horacio Sormani, photographer. Henny Allis, photographer. Henny Allis and Horacio Sormani are photographers with a preference to the documentary perspective of photography. Horacio Sormani is attracted to the urban periphery and the human environment as a subject matter. His photography is a realistic yet somewhat metaphoric perspective of what a landscape is. Sormani has created a series based on what he calls 'omtrekkende landschapsfotografie'. The idea is to cross a certain area in one direction. During the journey photographs are taken at specific intervals. Sometimes depending on time, distance or another factor. Henny Allis is interested in movement. The 'movement'photographs of people on their way to work or at dance parlours are research into the effects of a moving subject on the image. During a journey through Patagonia she literally let the landscape pass by her camera en documented an endless landscape through her car window. Sormani and Alllis' work is regularly exhibited in The Netherlands and intenationally. Amongst others at the Centre Iris in Paris (2004), Primavera Fotografica in Barcelona (2000) en Buenos Aires (1996). |
