Dirk Wiersma, photographer. 14.05.05 – 18.06.05 The exhibited photography is a selection from recent work by Wiersma. His interest lies in objects and places that used to be at the centre of attention but have now been cast aside to the periphery of our attention. He turns them into frozen images of objects and spaces. By concentrating on the ephemeral nature of everyday life, the observer is invited to see and appreciate the beauty of object and spaces that are slowly disintegrating. Wiersma’s work has been exhibited in the National Historical Museum in Leiden (The Netherlands), Museum Idar Oberstein (Germany), Geologie Museum ARTIS (The Netherlands) and various galleries in The Netherlands. His work has also been published in NATURE and Le Monde. Artist website: |
